Common Questions
Frequently Asked
I work with children and young people from early years through to young adulthood (approximately ages 4-25). The approach is tailored to each individual's developmental stage and needs, using play-based therapy for younger children and more talk-based approaches for adolescents.
Yes, online therapy sessions are available for those who prefer this format or cannot attend in person. Online therapy can be just as effective as face-to-face sessions, and I use secure video platforms to ensure confidentiality.
The length of therapy varies depending on individual needs. Some children benefit from short-term work (8-12 sessions), while others may need longer-term support. We'll discuss this during the initial consultation and review progress regularly.
Therapy can help with a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioural challenges, relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues, school-related stress, digital wellbeing concerns, and navigating life transitions such as family changes or bereavement.
Parents are a vital part of the therapeutic process. I offer regular parent consultation sessions to share progress (while maintaining the child's confidentiality), provide guidance on supporting your child at home, and answer any questions you may have.
